| A-Rod wanted 350 mil from Yankees ? NEW YORK (AP) -- The Yankees were told by agent Scott Boras that they could not meet with Alex Rodriguez unless they presented an extension offer that guaranteed the star $350 million "as a floor." Boras' remarks, first reported Friday by ESPN.com, were made Oct. 25 during a conversation between the agent and general manager Brian Cashman, a baseball official said Friday, speaking on condition of anonymity because those details were not made public. Rodriguez had $81 million remaining over the final three years of his record $252 million, 10-year contract, and the deal contained an additional $10 million escalator. The Yankees were prepared to offer him an extension worth $25 million to $30 million a season for four or five years. Report: Boras sought $350M for A-Rod

| Re: A-Rod wanted 350 mil from Yankees ? Someday i wish someone could produce a contract for public viewing. I don't care if there is a name attached to it but I'd like to see what a major money contract actually says. If it is for $25 Million per year does all that money come as cash, long term payments, property, cars, McDonalds gift certificates ????? $350 Million would be enough, for me at least, to support my grandchildrens, grandchildren.

| Re: A-Rod wanted 350 mil from Yankees ? Then the Players Union cries COLLUSION!. But it would be wonderful if he simply priced himself out of the market AND HAD TO "SETTLE" FOR 20 MILLION A YEAR FROM SOMEBODY. |

| Re: A-Rod wanted 350 mil from Yankees ? Let them cry.. Collusion .... all they want. There is no law that says they have to pay that much for a player. Should he be the highest paid...maybe, at least top 3, but that doesn't mean they have to give him part of the team to make the players union happy. Let them go to court and try to get it past a judge because they don't want to pay that much.

| Re: A-Rod wanted 350 mil from Yankees ? Do you think it is time the commissioner stepped in and did something about the contracts. At least set up some talks between the two sides. Can A-Rod really expect to win like he says he wants to if he takes every available dollor for himself. |

| Well that's why A-Rod is a hypocrite. If he truly cared about "winning," he would have just re-negotiated his deal with the Yankees. What, 300 million isn't enough? He lets Boras lead him around with a leash. But that just tells you he's weak which is why he chokes up in a big game. |

| Re: A-Rod wanted 350 mil from Yankees ? No chance A-Rod gets $300 million let alone $350 mil. No matter how much revenue A-Rod as a draw brings in, no team could stand to give that much to one person. Plus you better bet your butt owners and GMs are scared clueless that they will set a precedent if someone gives him that. |
