the Yankee's season is over ..... the Red Sox are in the World Series

can Yankee fans ever cheer for the Red Sox ?

i know some will say it is such a heated rivalry that no matter what, you never cheer for the Red Sox ......... and some will say, no matter what, i want the AL to win the World Series .. and if that means cheering for Boston i will bite the bullet and do it

so, Yankee fans, where are you on this ?

I heard somebody debating this on TV the other day - whether or not the Yankee fans are rooting for Boston, just so the AL will in. I personally don't buy it. If I were a NY fan, no way I'd want my arch-rivals to win it, conference loyalty be damned. It'll be interesting to see how actual Yankee fans answer this question.

I actually did in 1986. I hated the Mets and got huge odds 14:5, so I bet the Red Sox for the series. Boy, was I cranky.

I don't think in the modern day of baseball (where the only difference between leagues is the DH), fans won't cheer for their rival to beat the other league.

If you do, shame on you. (IMO)

If the World Series was the Phillies vs. Boston, I would hope Boston would sweep. But I'm rooting for the Rockies right now.

As a Yankee fan I could never cheer for Boston under any circumstances.

Back in 1986, I hated the Mets just as much as the Red Sox so I had no problem rooting for them.

Now i'm rooting for the Rockies, but as I said before the series started, I can root all I want, but the Rockies have very little chance to win this series.

I mean, they look like a deer in headlights. They have to win all 3 at home to have any chance.
