just how is it that lineup gets bounced in the first round of the playoffs ?

i will tell you how .... the NY Yankees suck ...... plain and simple

if the players leave like they say they would if Torre didnt return, and A-Rod decides to leave .. i fully expect NY to finish in 3rd next season in the AL East

Yankee fans need to prepare for a long painful ride ..... and im going to love every minute of it

How many of you think that any of these guys are going anywhere else just because Torre isn't around? After next year Giambi and his worthless hide come off the books. NY will resign posada and Rivera and if A-Rod walks they will go after Mike Lowell to play third. And then they will set their sights on Johan Santana with the money that has been freed up from paying Torre and Giambi. I expect their lineup next year to look something like this.

Carlos Pena at first
Robinson Cano at second
Derek Jeter at short
A-Rod/Lowell at third
Posada catching
An outfield of Matsui/Damon in left Torii Hunter or Aaron Rowand in center. Melky Cabrera in right
Starting pitchers- Wang, Pettite, Mussina, Chamberlain, Hughes, Kennedy

OK ... so here is an interesting point to ponder. Where would the Yankees be if George hadn't been involved with them over the past 30 plus years ???

I think he did as much damage to baseball in general as anyone will ever do, but putting that aside would they have won as many championships without him at the helm ???

I am serious here and not trying to tweak anyone. Had they lost that game last night, with his not sliding into home and then not running out a ball that Ortiz limped home from first on, he would now be being run out of town.

for me it has become a given that he is a crappy outfielder ..... Coco Crisp must play 1/3 or so of LF, and im ok with that

what pisses me off is his base running errors ...... trying to stretch hits, knowing he is fat and slow
