But there are times and people who do in fact have enough money but just want to prove a point. Why did Clemens come back ?? It wasn't about money. Joe may want one more shot with a team that has a chance just to show George that he is still worth it. Another interesting off season.

Show me the other managers who are making 5 million a year? Are there any. Now show me the one who blew a 3-0 lead to thier most bitter rival. Are there any? Now show me the one who got bounced out of the playoffs three years running in the first round. Are there any?

In the end, the NY Yankees will have put Joe Torre in the Hall of Fame. Not once, never, ever, did I hear him say in the hundreds of post-game interviews on YES after Yankee games that he ever made a wrong move. Good riddance.

What a joke. You come off like a Yankee fan who feels entitled to winning the World Series every year. Torre got the Yankees into the playoffs every single year he managed.

I know you guys have some great players on your team. However, if you think bringing just anybody not named Torre in will automatically get you back into the World Series, you're going to be in for a rude awakening.

without Torre and if Posada, Rivera and A-Rod defect like they said they would, i expect the Yankees to finish 3rd in the AL East next season

About those players, here's what I think will happen.

-Rivera: If the Yanks offer him two years, he'll stay. If they offer one and insist on one year, he'll leave.

-Posada: If they pony up the big bucks, he'll stay.

-ARod: Will opt out, we'll see if the Yanks keep their word.

-Pettite: He'll leave/retire.
