Steinbrenner Sons in Control

The Yankees are now run on a day-to-day basis by Hank and Hal Steinbrenner, the sons of George. The Post was told by the Yankee organization itself that George Steinbrenner has given control up to his sons. Instead, George is the "chairman" of the organization.

Hank and Hal will control the team, the new stadium and the YES Network.

Not much of a surprise, I'm sure it happened even a year ago and they just "officially" announced it this weekend.

And they "officially" announced it now to save George face for when Torre comes back next season, I'll betcha.

Well the old devil is 77 years old. Time to take a day off here and there. I thought sure that George Costanza would get the nod.
