The Yankees dropped Roger Clemens from their ALDS roster in favor of LHP Ron Villone. The move means Clemens would not be able to be added to the ALCS roster if the Yankees advance. Clemens left Game 3 last night with what was called a left hamstring injury.

The ability to drop injured players off playoff rosters was added this year.

I don't know what the Yankees expected from Clemens for $18 million. If nothing else, it provided the fanbase some excitement at a time when they were down.
