You know I can't blame Steinbrenner. You don't judge the Yankees by post season appearances. They haven't won the World Series since 2000. That's the bottom line. |

Up until about 2002 he always played his gut and did what was best for the team. He never thought anything of benching Wade Boggs, Tino Martinez....Also played rookies like Shane Spencer and Ricky Ledee. Then all of a sudden he started showing too much loyalty to his veterans...Example: Hideki Matsui shouldn't be playing this post season. He can't hit. Also in 2003 when the lost to the Sox, he sat on his hands and didn't make moves he should have made...Example: stealing on Varitek who couldn't catch wakefield, bunting on Schilling with his gimpy ankle. So I would like to see a new manager if they go down quietly. |

| Re: Boss to Torre: Win or else I have noticed that he is not as aggresive as I remember. He is managing like he is waiting for his high priced players to bail him out with HRs. You still can not blame him for all of it. I don't think he is the one that put this pitching staff together.

| Re: Boss to Torre: Win or else Torre's downward spiral began the second they signed Giambi and let Tino walk. Everything he has done since then is the opposite of how he managed before. He used to be like an NL manager in the American League, but now sits and waits for big innings. Every thing comes to an end. Torre should have left on his own volition after last year.
