Now is the time for Giambi to do the right thing

With Jason Giambi off to a wonderful start and, one must assume, free of steroids, now is the time for him to come forward and admit what he did and why. If he stood up and answered all questions, and then told kids that what he did was wrong and detrimental to his own health, he would be able to turn what he did into a positive. Obviously, with all the money that is involved here, and lawyers too, I will not hold my breath waiting for this to happen, but wouldn't it be nice if he did?

It would be great if he did..... but I don't think he will.

Just to let you'all know HOW good he is doing, Last year, after three months, he had a total of 6 home runs. This year, after three weeks, he has seven home runs!

He is off to a great start, as MVB pointed out. If he keeps it up, do you think he will be MVP potential?

If he wasn't so atrocious at first base, then yeah, he'd be a MVP candidate.

An every day DH maybe.... But then he'd have Ortiz to contend with for the MVP award. Is Giambi better then Ortiz? No way... So he'd still have difficulty winning the MVP award.

Re: Now is the time for Giambi to do the right thing

Giambi would face a huge anti-steroid faction among the writers if he had an MVP type year, no matter where he played.

So in other words, his career is basically down the drain?

As far as him garnering any awards that mean anything. He will still be employed as a major leaguer and cheered in NY as long as he is producing.

Same with Barry Bonds in San Francisco.

He already admitted to using steroids. What more do you want?

Re: Now is the time for Giambi to do the right thing

He admitted it to a grand jury behind closed doors. I want him to stand in front of the microphones and admit it to the kids of this country as he gives back his AL MVP Award. Let him go and talk to Steinbrenner and say "George, this is what I want to do, if you promise not to terminate my contract. I want to admit what I did so kids might not make the same mistake."
