| Clemens to have MRI exam on right elbow Roger Clemens got banged up by the Seattle Mariners, and then quickly left the clubhouse after the Yankees' 7-1 loss on Monday to get an MRI exam on his balky right elbow. The 45-year-old Clemens, who allowed five runs and eight hits in four innings to lose for the first time since July 28 at Baltimore, felt his elbow tighten up during the game, manager Joe Torre said."First three innings it was a manageable situation for him and then it started to tighten up," Torre said. "Hopefully it's just something that needs a little rest." Torre was noncommittal about whether Clemens would remain on schedule in the rotation. His next start would likely be Sunday at Kansas City. "For safety sake, we may skip a turn but it all depends on what the tests show," Torre said. Clemens, who was already gone before the clubhouse opened, was unavailable to comment. Clemens fell to 6-6 with a 4.45 ERA in 16 starts this season. He also pitched an inning out of the bullpen at San Francisco on June 24. He leads all active players with 354 wins, which is also 8th on the all-time list. FOX Sports on MSN - MLB - Clemens to have MRI exam on right elbow |

| Re: Clemens to have MRI exam on right elbow Yes the old man is falling apart just as I knew he would. Too old to play competitively. How many million did it cost old Georgie to find out what I told him for free ??? |

| Re: Clemens to have MRI exam on right elbow Go back and look at my previous posts on Clemens where I said as soon as he gets bombed in a big spot he will have an injury to blame. Oh to have so much money to throw around that you can pay this guy for what he used to be.

| Re: Clemens to have MRI exam on right elbow lol legend you forgot about one thing, he disclosed his elbow injury after the sox start it was a mystery injury, just one he was trying to play threw. START JOBA. I know the innings are big, but if u max him at 5 innings its 1 more inning a week he could pitch out of the penn, i belive the most is 4 or 6. moose is done, ian kennedy took his spot and so should joba. IF the yanks dont make the playoffs cause of it so be it. Id rather see these kids under pressure and see what their made of then a man that needs to retire
