Cool Randy Johnson

It's pretty clear. He is not the same pitcher he was in Arizona. He was so-so last year and after last night's disgrace, I don't see it getting better anytime soon. I think the Yanks are in huge trouble.

Re: Randy Johnson

There's some talk that he might be injured, but I haven't heard anything concrete.

There's nothing wrong with that phony, faking fraud.

Re: Randy Johnson

A) He is NOT injured. Torre and Johnson bothed talked to the media, and Johnson says, physically, he is fine.

B) The Yanks are not in HUGE trouble. Johnson can still pitch (his first three starts were brilliant). He always has trouble against the Jays ( a lifetime ERA of 6.50+).

He will be good this year, but he is going to lose every once in a while.

Re: Randy Johnson

Okay, fair enough, MVB. I wonder where the rumors about him being hurt came from...

Re: Randy Johnson

He is a most unlikeable individual. The fact that he won't have Posada as his catcher really irks me. Posada was good enough to play on 6 World Series teams and is a true Yankee.

Re: Randy Johnson

Even though I am an avid Yankee fan, I secretly enjoyed watching Stinnet call for bad pitches (resulting in monstrous homers), dropping a ball, and made some other silly plays.

Johnson is a very arrogant person...

Cool Re: Randy Johnson

The Big Unit gave up a homer to Antonio Peres, a guywho was 1 for 33 this year up until that point. Unit is washed up, finito!

Considering where he was he is the most washed up pitcher im baseball today. Scott Erickson would be 2nd but he never achieved Johnsons heights. Johnson is going to the hall of fame and he is in 2006 a pitcher who ineffectual lineups get smokin hot against. Hes a disgrace as a player and a human being. All expectations considered, the worst signing the NY Yankees have ever made in their 103 history. If I were Steinbrenner id buy out his contract to retire, go play somewhere else or throw apples at people for all id care. If a pitcher is an automatic out in the national league when batting than Johnson has become an automatic loss for the Yankees when pitches. To have the slightest optimism in this now habitual loser is either the result of unbridled optimism or illegal mind altering drugs.

Re: Randy Johnson

I hung my head in shame after Friday's game... Neither Kielty or Perez had homered at all this season... until they met Johnson.

It's depressing....

Re: Randy Johnson

You knew it was going to be bad when he couldn't throw the ball by a bum like Marco Scutaro. The guy was hitting under .200, but must have fouled back 5 pitches in a row before he took a called strike three. Perez has 2 hits all year, both against Randy Johnson. Kielty's home run was hit like a laser, his first. The potential was there for a very bad scene once a frustrated Johnson began to yell in at the home plate umpire, who was adding to his misery by doing him no favors behind the plate.
If I were Randy Johnson, assuming I am already set for life money-wise, I would tell the media that I am going to donate my salary to some charity until I begin to pitch like a 5 time Cy Young winner. If I didn't regain my form, I would retire at the end of the year, or when it became clear that I was done in my own mind.
Great call by Trashed- unbridled optimism or mind altering drugs- those could be the only two ways to think things are going to improve for Randy johnson.

Re: Randy Johnson

Johnson was pitching so poorly he didn't deserve ANY of the close calls. And man, the umpire did an awesome job keeping his own temper in check.
