Yankees Spring Training

Every year the New York Yankees travel south to Tampa, Florida for spring training. The Yankees have been holding spring training drills in Tampa at Legends Field since 1996. Pitchers and Catchers report to camp in mid February, with the position players showing up about five days later. Full workouts then begin to get the team ready for their spring training schedule.

Legends Field is a 31 acre complex that includes a 10,000 seat ballpark. Legends Field sports the same dimensions as Yankee Stadium, allowing the players to get an early feel for the ballpark they call home.

If you are looking to join the Yankees for spring training, the ticket office at Legends Field opens every year about a month before players are scheduled to report. The ticket office takes orders via phone, fax, or mail for the upcoming spring schedule. You can also purchase tickets online at Yankees.com.

Yankees spring training tickets are reasonably priced ranging from $12 for a reserved upper deck outfield seat, to $18 for a reserved lower level seat. For those fans that are looking to experience Yankees spring training in style, there are 12 luxury suites available. To reserve one of these suites, interested parties should contact the ticket office.

The Yankees spring training schedule generally includes 30 games, with 15 of them taking place at Legends Field. The first game of the spring training season usually takes place in early March, with the last game coming at the end of March or the first couple days of April.

For out of town fans visiting the Yankees in Tampa for the first time, you will have plenty of lodging choices available to suit your needs. There are seven hotels located within easy driving distance of Legends Field. This is perfect for the fan who is hoping to attend a few games, and spend a lot of time at the ballpark.

Once you get to the stadium you will be able to park in one of four lots which cost $6 during spring training season. Disabled parking spaces are also available by contacting the ticket office.

Finding something to eat will never be a problem either, as there are about five restaurants within a mile or two of the hotels. If you want to venture out a little bit further, you will be sure to find many more dining options.

A Yankees spring training game is a must see for all baseball fans. Don’t miss your chance to join thousands of other fans again this spring at Legends Field.
