i just saw at tvguide.com that Roger Clemens will be on MythBusters this Wed night at 9 pm EST on the Discovery Channel to help the with baseball myths

some of you know that i already am a big MythBusters fan, but i thought many of you might like to check out this episode ...... should be good stuff

Well now, that could be interesting - a test to see if steroids can actually help a baseball player at the point. But how in the world would you conduct the test?

I always said if steriods can make you hit even a fraction as good as Bonds everyone would take them to be a major league baseball player!

Perhaps they will bust the myth that barrel shaped Roger does these gut-wrenching workouts to stay in shape, which is round.

i just saw a commercial for the show (yes i really do watch Discovery Channel a lot)

one of the things they are testing is the myth that a corked bat will help you hit the ball farther

another seemed to be the quickest way to get from first to second base (whether or not you should slide)

should be an interesting show, though i think it always is

they are testing if you can hit a ball farther with a corked bat

whether a baseball will travel less distance if kept in a humidor

is it quicker to slide into 2nd or reach base standing up

does a curveball curve, or is it an optical illusion

this has shown to be plausible ..... the balls with 10% humidity went much farther the the balls with 90% humidity

with that, many teams are now keeping their baseballs in humidors

totally busted

the ball came off the bat at 1/2 the speed when the bat is corked .... the cork also seems to absorb some of the power, so the ball would not travel as far

corking your bat is actually a negative thing, not a positive one

it was proven, by Clemens and NASA, that a curveball does indeed curve ..... but it was totally busted that a fastball can rise, there is just no way that will happen
