Clemens and Farnsworth killing Yanks

These two are just brutal. Now we get the Clemens that pitches like he's 44 years old. This ain't the National League over here, with about four automatic outs in every lineup. If Torre wasn't going to retire after this year, I'd fire him just for trotting Farnsworth out every chance he gets. As bad as Proctor could be, he was like Rollie Fingers compared to this guy.

Re: Clemens and Farnsworth killing Yanks

It's good to see George waste his money on a 44 year old has been who gives up 8 runs in one inning. He should have stayed in TX and enjoyed the fruits of his labors. This is how he'll be remembered by the younger generation. I hope now he doesn't get into the HOF as a Red Sox.

Re: Clemens and Farnsworth killing Yanks

Clemens was a mercenary without any bullets in his gun, and the Yankees were foolish enough to pay him. Guess you can't blame Roger for that. My only hope is that they booed him off the field today, like they booed Farnsworth.

Call him what you want. Ted Williams left the game in style. Rogo should take note that it is good for the legend status to leave on a high note.

Cool Re: Clemens and Farnsworth killing Yanks

To be fair, Clemens should have been out of that inning, had Cano turned an easy double play.

Don't get down on the Rocket. The conditions were brutal yesterday - hot and humid. He'll be back.

Farnsworth: Yeah - he stinks - but I personally like him. He signed an autograph for my daughter last year during batting practice. That goes a long way with me.

Re: Clemens and Farnsworth killing Yanks

thank God someone finally agrees that Celmens isnt the best thing since sliced bread. i thought it was a mistake when they brought him in, i mean the guys is 44 and was struggeling in the minor leagues while he was preparing to come to the Yankees i mean come on!! people wanted him to be their scape goat when the yankees were sucking in the first half of the season. they thought "lets bring in a veteran pitcher who will revive our season and we will be great again..." WRONG i mean Wong has got less of the status that Clemens has and yet hes been the best pitcher so far..

like i said i think Clemens was going to be used as a scape goat, if he came in a did well then everyone is happy, just like there is a parade when he gets a win, and if he plays bad and the yankees lose then it wont make a difference becuase they were already loosing...but wait...the yankees have been putting some good runs together and they are 3 games away from the wild card place...and Clemens is still on the roster so now he will be looked at for the downfall he will cause to the yankees if he begins to suck again

He didn't do great in the minors on his way to saving the Yankee Nation. This is no surprise. I will give you the fact that this was probably above and beyond the norm but from the very beginning of his threat to return I said he was just to old and he was pitching in the NL. Old and in the AL spells trouble.

My good man I know you are not asking me because it is painfully obvious to most here I have no positive feelings for Rogo returning at this great late age in his life.

This is not the stuff legends are made of.
