| Yankees bullpen blowups Wow, two unrelated stories, but both involve blowups featuring Yankees relief pitchers. The first comes from the New York Daily News: "OAKLAND'S TORCHING of Scott Proctor yesterday was nothing compared to what the Yankee reliever later did to his gear... About 45 minutes after yesterday's loss to Oakland - in which Proctor was charged with three runs on three hits in one-third of a inning - the pitcher set fire to his glove, uniform, spikes and other items, outside the Yankee dugout." The second was first reported in the New Jersey Star Ledger: "Kyle Farnsworth's outburst Friday did not go unheeded by Joe Torre... Farnsworth, who stormed off the mound after being removed in the eighth inning and then slammed his glove to the dugout floor from the top step, was confronted after the game by the Yankees manager... Witnesses -- who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the incident took place while the clubhouse was closed to the media -- said Torre went nose-to-nose with Farnsworth and told him, 'Don't ever do that to me again.' When Farnsworth protested he had not shown up Torre in the way he handed over the ball, the manager countered, 'Yes you did.'" SOURCES: Reliever burns uniform, gear following latest flameout NJ.com: Everything Jersey So, what do you think? Personally, I think maybe the Yankees bullpen has collectively lost their freakin' minds!
