Yankees Let Blue Jay Steal Home

Andy Petite was busy keeping an eye on the runner on 1st while the runner on 3rd made a break for home ....... by the time Posada caught the attention of Petite it was too late and Aaron Hill had stolen home

Quote:
Turning point: Toronto gained a 2-1 lead in the seventh when Jays second baseman Aaron Hill stole home.

Cool Re: Yankees Let Blue Jay Steal Home

And not only did he steal the plate, but Petitte was pitching from the stretch.

That was a microcosm of the Yankees entire year.

Cool Re: Yankees Let Blue Jay Steal Home

That's what the Yankees lack - that aggresiveness of a guy like Hill.

Stealing home? The last person to do that must've been Henderson.

It is still a risky move by Hill, but he obviously felt it was the appropriate action.

Marc if it's so hard to do, why did Babe Ruth who was fat, steal home 10 times in his career? Can't be as hard as they say! Well maybe it is, I don't know.

Re: Yankees Let Blue Jay Steal Home

You like digging up statistics, eh?

It is hard because the pitcher is usually looking home.

They mostly get caught in a run-down or there is an error.
