i have been hearing talk lately that Jason Giambi could be headed out of New York

not so fast my friend

i stumbled across this and found out it won't be so easy to get rid of him if the Yankees so desire

Jason Giambi was surprised to learn of the Angels' supposed interest in him before last night's game, but the slugger didn't give any indication that he would be willing to waive his no-trade clause.


"I never asked for (a trade)," Giambi said. "It's all news to me."
Giambi has a full no-trade clause as part of the seven-year, $120million contract he signed following the 2001 season. When asked if he would consider waiving it, Giambi reiterated his plans to finish his contract in New York.


"I'm a Yankee," Giambi said. "I have no (desire) to go anywhere. It's kind of fun to read, but it's all news to me."
