Cool Clippard beats Mets

Did anybody see this kid pitch against the Mets. He's listed as 22 but he looks more like 16. He had a really nasty curve ball and had the Mets hitters off-balance all night long.

Re: Clippard beats Mets

He definitely looks very young but he sure put up some impressive numbers for a first time out. Will Clemens be able to top this kid ??

Re: Clippard beats Mets

Just remember it was the kids first time out. Once the majors gets a book on the kid, will he be able to duplicate his success?

He looks like one of those prospects in NC.

I was impressed. Most of the guys who have made their MLB debuts this season have struggled, but Clippard had poise and control that I didn't expect. Like you say, his curve is nasty. I think he'll be a good one.

Re: Clippard beats Mets

Gabbard had a good start too

Quote:
Making his 2007 debut, Gabbard (1-0) held Atlanta hitless through 3 2-3 and retired 12 of the first 13 batters he faced. He walked one and allowed six hits, leaving with a 6-0 lead after giving up back-to-back hits to start the sixth inning.
FOX Sports on MSN - MLB - Gabbard K's seven in win
it isnt always about the Yankees ya know
