the Yankees are 8 games out of 1st place as of right now ...... and imo A-Rod has played like the hands down MVP

my question is what if the rest of the team plays the way they are now and A-Rod starts playing average or even has a slump for a couple weeks or so ?

I doubt that'll happen. Baseball players always seem to get to their historical levels. I highly doubt that Abreu and Cano are not going to hit all season.

Boston is bound for a slump at some point, every team does. It's just a matter of how prolonged it will be.

Likewise, the Yanks should begin to play better sooner or later...just a matter of if it will be too late.

I am a Sox fan but generally their slump begins right after the all star game and ends in Sept.

its ok bro ive been a fan for about 30 years

and like most i always set myself up and they almost always let me down

i may be setting myself up this year for disappointment ...... though i dont think they have ever built up such a lead so early

I think they had a similar lead just a couple of years ago, but they definitely didn't have the pitching then that they do now. Injurioes are what they need to look out for. As for Cano, he is going to be lucky to hit .260 this year. He has not adjusted to how they are pitching him at all. And A-Rod has become average in May.
