| Re: What If A-Rod Becomes Average Well, since you asked, allow me to elucidate. Mike Lowell and Kevin Youkilis are both among the top 15 in the AL in batting average. Lowell is 5th in the American League in RBI and Julio Lugo is 18th. Youkilis leads the team in hits and has more hits than any Yankee but A-Rod. Lugo is fourth in the AL in stolen bases. And that's not even getting into the pitching staff, where Tim Wakefield is third in the league in ERA and Josh Beckett has been the best pitcher in baseball so far this season.

Matsuzaka hasn't been impressive either. Regardless of his 5-2 record (thanks to run support), his sky-high 4.17 ERA is not what the Red Sox expected when forking him over a multi-million dollar contract. I admit that David Ortiz has been phenominal, and is truly leading the Red Sox (with Kevin Youkilis). Alex Rodriguez, on the other hand, has depicting his prominent presence in the Yankees organization. He can perform well in the clutch, for example in his walk-off homeruns, and play well on a day-to-day basis. Jorge Posada has also had a stunning season, thus far. Their only flaw is their weak pitching staff. But, they are focusing on improving that throughout the season. You can always compare the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees head-to-head, considering that most of you are rotten Boston fans. In conclusion, each team has particular athletes performing better than the others. But when it comes to full strength in the batting order, I would have to support the New York Yankees. |

1st the Boston pitching is head and shoulders above NY in the AL ....... Boston is #2 in team ERA while NY is #11 ...... Boston is #3 in saves NY is #14 .... 2nd let's see just how the Yankees juggernaut bats are doing shall we ? ..... NY has 211 runs and Boston has 207 ........ NY has 368 hits Boston has 363 ...... both teams have 40 HRs ....... Boston has 576 total bases NY has 566 ...... Boston has a .280 team batting average NY has .276 .......Boston has a .365 on base % NY's is .352 ..... Boston's slugging % is .444 NY's is .424 ..... Boston has 77 doubles while NY has 72 if NY is such an awesome hitting line-up (and according to you Manny is stinking it up) just what does that make Boston ? id say it makes Boston about 9 games better in the standings when you try to bash my Bo-Sox i come prepared for battle

Why don't we settle this by who has more All-Star representative this year? |

| Re: What If A-Rod Becomes Average I have to agree with Simon on this one. Popularity votes have nothing to do with abilities. |
