ok i am not here to accuse Clemens of being on steroids ..... totally the opposite actually ..... (please take note of the ? on the title of this thread)

Clemens name seems to have been tossed around all over this steroids scandal and yet he continues to come back and pitch

in my mind there are to options here

1) he isnt doing and possibly has never done steroids so he isnt worried about testing and the new rules

2) he is/has done steroids but found a way to beat the system

personally i like to think he has never done steroids ..... i still admire him from his Red Sox days and dont blame him for leaving

No, the guy is supposedly a fitness nut and a real workhorse. I don't believe he used roids.

That is what I have heard...he is like old Steve Carlton...into a fitness nut...those type pitch well into their 40's...just don't see Rog doing roids...plus it's not like he doesn't take breaks between games...

well i agree i too have heard his workout regimen is like Jerry Rice's

ive heard when he was in Toronto some of the younger pitchers tried to work out with Clemens and couldnt keep up with him

i think him coming back lends creedance to the thought that he isnt doing roids

is it possible he is beating the tests ?

You miss the point...you would not question it the same...you would give the Rocket the benefit of the doubt, instead of looking for cause...the glass would be half full, not half empty...that's all...that's the funny part...

i think i have been defending Roger here ..... ii still like him even though he is a Yankee ...... not much will change that

all i said is his name has been tossed around, not by me but by some

i dont think he has been taking steroids and im wondering if those that do are changing their minds with him since he keeps coming back

I have been wondering for years how pitchers like Clemens and Johnson have not been linked to these stories. I don't think they have used, but I find it interesting they have never been questioned. They are pitching well into their 40s and winning. You would think the media would at least ask the question. Clemens even had his name mentioned in a scandal not too long ago too if I remember. How is it that he avoids the scandal?

I'd be surprised if he did steroids. Clemens is a workout nut. When he was on the Yankees a few years ago, a couple of pitchers tried to do his workout, I forget which ones - might have actually been Ted Lilly...but they puked on the field. Actually I just found the SI article

Clemens also let rookie lefties Randy Keisler and Ted Lilly join him during a workout in Baltimore in July. Lilly grew dizzy and nearly passed out, and Keisler vomited. "Or maybe it was the other way around," Clemens says, laughing.

As for Clemens, it's possible. IMO, all the players from "that" era have to be doubted because we don't know how many "real" guys there were. For all we know, Clemens could be cycling off the juice as he prepares to return. Then again, he could simply be a workout warrior and have no need for the juice. Who knows?

I say we either accept the era and move on, or ban the hell out of everyone...but it is lunancy to keep mentioning guys in rumors....and have a bunch of writers take aim at who should or should not be in the Hall without there ever being a banning of any kind...

So people were juiced...live with it...the stats stand...get on with the game...

That's all I am saying...and maybe give credit to people like Dale Murphy the two time MVP with +390 legit homers when it comes to voting for the Hall... ...the man was squeaky clean...
