I have to agree with this one for sure. The arms on both of those guys are/were as big as my thighs. That doesn't happen just from swinging a bat and working out. If so then why wasn't Ali a monster ??? |

and proof is needed...I mean can we make the assumption that because Sammy was caught with a corked bat that every 500 homerun hitter in the league corks his bat?...or do we need some proof? |

| Re: Roger Clemens On Steroids You know what? I like the idea of stripping guys of personal records without proof. While we're at it, let's take away Cal Ripken's consecutive games played streak. There was one game back in the middle of the streak where he looked different, so I'm going to assume that it wasn't actually him, that he used a stand-in and doesn't deserve the record. Nolan Ryan's 7 no hitters? He had to have been using something illegal in at least one or two of them, right, because no one can possibly be in good enough shape to throw that many no-hitters over that many years without putting some banned substance in his body, right? Proof? We don't need no stinking proof?

If they did use performance enhancing drugs, what good does that do now? |

My point is, you can't go back and wipe out the late 90's...it is what it is..."The LIVE ball era"... |

| Re: Roger Clemens On Steroids Obviously there is nothing that can or will be done now. Now being the key word here. My feeling is that there was some type of body enhancing drugs being used by "some" players and records were broken by these guys. Today is a new day and since most observers agree that the records, as they stand now, are a bit false in some cases. So why not do something today to put sports back into the perspective that they should be. If more testing is what needs to be done then do it. How can anyone making millions of dollars per year complain about drug testing when it comes to the sanctity of records. If you're not using them then the testing will be a non issue. If they are you'll hear the claims of invasion of privacy. Right ??? |
