| Rivera blows another save Yankees closer Mariano Rivera surrendered a ninth-inning, tie-breaking home run to Adrian Beltre yesterday in New York's 3-2 loss to Seattle. According to the Associated Press, "Rivera (1-3) retired his first two batters in the ninth before Beltre, dropped from second to seventh in the order, drove a high pitch over the left-center fence for his fifth home run... It was the second homer of the season off Rivera, who gave up three all of last year. Lacking regular work, he has an 8.44 ERA." Rivera is 1-3 with 3 saves and according to Yahoo! Sports, a pair of official blown saves. Is there any point where the Yankees start considering possibly trying out someone else in the closer role? I wouldn't think so, but clearly something's up with Mariano and it's gotta be a concern.

| Re: Rivera blows another save New York would never embarass Rivera like that, but there has to be much concern now. This si longer than his previous slumps. Also, who could they possibly put in his place, gutless Kyle Farnsworth? It was a crying shame to see that kid's effort go to waste because of this bullpen.
