Re: Yankees sign Roger Clemens

28 mil for one year is a panic move for a pitcher who has proven he is still more domiant then most pitchers in the leauge, that 28 mil is better spent money then pavanos contract, lets look at this a different way, phillip highes is the next rocket according to many right? Now i got Pettite and the rocket who by far have the best work ethic mentoring him, i couldnt care if he doesnt get me a ring this year, do you guys remember how much clemens changed how pettite works out this is a great move, now i can look foward in the next two years to a one two punch of wang and hughes ill take that for 28 mil

One thing this does do, however, is motivate them and lift their spirits. Don't underestimate the kind of impact that can have on this team.

He was also picked up by the Gotham Dark Knights of the GTG fantasy league...however, we could not offer him $28 mil...

Re: Yankees sign Roger Clemens

Yankee fans never embraced Clemens. They saw him as someone trying to hop on the bandwagon and finally get a ring. He needs to as good as he has been for Houston to be well received, and these are not NL lineups he is going to be facing.

I guess that's partially my point... whatever Yankee fans thought of him before, because of their current situation, he's their Golden Boy now.

Or the guy who signed him. Or both.

Re: Yankees sign Roger Clemens

My question about Clemens is how will he adapt once again to the AL. I can't see him having a sub 3 ERA like he constantly did with Houston.

Plus if I remember correctly, he routinely only lasted five innings and perhaps six on occasion. But I guess he will have the Yanks offense behind it, instead of those terrible Astros line-ups of the past two years.

Re: Yankees sign Roger Clemens

I was wondering how long it would be before he reappeared. The yankees really need some help from the mound.
