do i detect a slight man-crush ?
Well, i mean if you count the shrine I built in the den for him...and the countless letters I keep sending him...well...maybe...

I stand nby my statement, the man could it one from Yankee Stadium into Lake Eire and someone is bound to say, "Yeah but he did it off a pitcher with an ERA over 4.00 in April games..."

Doesn't matter what he does at this point...you guys love to hate...lets at least admit that much...

Now, seven home runs so far. This guy is on a tear. If he doesn't have any big slumps, the sky is the limit.

Re: A-Rod on Fire

i was drinking with my friends they other night, and for the last couple years they have talked mad crap on arod, but this year with his start they seem to be rooting for him, thought they were just being bandwagon people. Then i asked why the change, they think right now they have to root for arod just so they dont have to see bonds with all these records lol

Re: A-Rod on Fire

Marc is so right when he says the media has made it its mission to tear down anyone they can. But fair or not, if A-Rod fails in October, these April homers will matter little. That is if they can make it to October with these starters.

Re: A-Rod on Fire

If he has an MVP season, won't that atone for his poor performance in October?

Which is more important?

If he does not have an MVP Season, will the Yankees make it to October?

Marc, the boy could win the triple crown, the MVP...the Masters in golf and the US Open in tennis and everyone would say yeah but...how was his October huh?

The media destroyed Tim Hardaway? What? The guy willingly went on a popular SoFla radio show and destroyed himself.

You would think that a public figure (one that many considered a role model) would anticipate saying that he "hates" gay people and "...there's no place for them on this planet" could have some repercussions.

There's no question that the media is all over A-Rod, but they're not out to destroy him... that's the assumed role of the Yankee's fan base, evidently.

And last I checked, A-Rod's hot start has been all over the sports media. So it's hard to say that they don't report on the good.

I will agree with my man's take on this...The only ones out for A-Rods' blood are his own Yankee fans (oh, and Redsox fans)...Rose and Hardaway did themselves in...though, yeah, the media couldn't wait to get the sound byte on the air...

Eh, I don't know that I agree with this...I mean, how many times has the NY media shredded Jeter? How many errors does he have now?

That being said, Arod could hit .400 and people would still be complaining that he didn't hit the ball 6 out of the 10 at bats. He's not a home-grown Yankee, most people agree he is better than Jeter at short, and he took on the Yank fans golden boy. That is all most Yankee fans will ever need to know about him.

A-Rod strikes again, hitting a walk-off homer tonight to beat the Indians 8-6.

starting tomorrow he will be facing 3 of the best pitchers in the game in a rowdy park

Schilling ..... Beckett ..... Dice-K ...... then Paplebon everyday if needed

he will have his hands full

I share the same prediction, mervinout.

Alex Rodriguez's hot start won't last forever.
