Joe torree doesnt want to change pettites and the mooses pitching rotation, i think it was in the newark star ledger he said i gotta play 161 games after opening day so why am i going to screw with my roatation for one game. I belive Karstans and Igewa(sp?) are also being considered for the start

They won't put Mussina on opening day because it would take him off his schedule and he's a creature of habit. Pavano's the only option who is relatively healthy and who fits into the schedule for Monday, April 2nd.

Wasn't that expected? I believe we discussed this yesterday, or so.

I think the Yankees should sign Roger Clemens just to pitch on Opening-Day. Otherwise, Pavano (I dare say it) is the best choice possible under Torre's management.

Pavano would just be happy to be on the roster on Opening Day. Mussina should break those habits, as they have not helped him win the big one yet and get his butt out on the mound. Opening Day starts are a traditional honor and he better be on that hill pitching.
