Pavano's comeback

Looks like Yankees P Carl Pavano is starting to win over his manager again. According to a report in today's Newsday, Joe Torre was impressed with the way Pavano pitched yesterday against the Red Sox, telling the paper "He looked like he was free and easy... that's what I care about. I didn't really care about results. I just liked how he looked... We know what he's capable of doing... Results aren't important as long as he's healthy. As long as he's healthy, we know what he can do." Good news for Yankee fans?

Re: Pavano's comeback

heres my question how valuable is he on the trade market, if he pitches well up till june, cause landing roger for the playoffs would be good but he needs a spot on the rotation. if he does well i wouldnt mind the yankees keeping him, but i wouldnt mind if cashman continues the trend of trading vets for more pitching prospects. the yanks have a lot of pitching in the minors for the first time in a while

Re: Pavano's comeback

Carl Pavano contributed less to the Yankee organization than Hans Ensmann. Who's Hans Ensmann? He's my friend who lives in Staten Island in all seriousness. Still since Pavano has just played rehab games and wasted the Yankees patience I still have to see him as nothing as a liability to the Yankee organization and an expensive one at that. Meanwhile Hans is an avid Yankee fan who has the Yes network and a Yankee T-shirt. Yes, Hans is far more valuable and dependable to the Yankees than Carl Pavano I don't think anyone can dispute that.

You make a valid point through your story, Nuke.

Carl Pavano has not yet justified his large, and unreasonable contract. But there is still time left.

Honestly that contract coupled with him being a non-participant for a long time might be causing an unharmonious locker room. Wasn't there a story with Mussina in fact about 3 weeks ago to that effect? Unless Pavano really turns on some greatness I think the Yankees might be better off trading him come mid-season. If they eat a bit of contract some team looking to make the playoffs might take a gamble on him.

Re: Pavano's comeback

At this point, I'm not so sure the Yankees hope he can produce something in the bigs only so they can turn him around in a trade. For now, they're happy he's pitching and not on the sidelines.

Oh definitely Empire. I'm sure the Yankee brass just want to see the guy playing somehow at this point.
