| Re: Greatest Moments in Yankee History I dont know how old this is or how you would even calculate over 100 years of great moments. The moment that stands out in my mind is from the 1996 world series. down 6-3 heading to the eigth, the yankees were looking at a 3-1 deficit to the defnding champs. Stepping into the box with 2 on was Jimmy Leyritz. After fouling off several Mark Wholers pitches and twirling his bat in his ttrade mark style, Leyritz hit one deep. "To the Track, The wall, we are tied." If leyritz doesn't get that hit, we may never get the dynasty. Also: Jeters Flip Play vs oakland The whole Jeff Meyer game (Jeter HR, bernie HR to win it) beating the MUTS in the subway series Jeters dive into the stands vs. the red sux Back to back to back HRs by Tim Raines, Derek Jeter and Paul O'neill in 1997 Aaron Boone 2001 world series (Mr November, Scott Brosius, Constantino martinez) 2003 ALCS fight vs. red sux (Zimm gets thrown to the ground) |
