| Re: New A-Rod - Jeter book doesnt the first point seem little abusrd in todays media. You telling me today if dibbel gets into that fight with pinella that they arent going to talk about it. Everyone last year was talking about jeter's and arods on and off realtionship. So why in the hell didnt someone who was trying to sell more papers write it.

| Re: New A-Rod - Jeter book More on that story. Apparently it goes that after Jeter made an error, A-Rod kept pushing his buttons about it cracking jokes and whatnot. Jeter cursed at him and the two had to be restrained by teammates. Jeter yelled he never he wanted A-Rod on the team. This was in front of the media but nobody reported it, it was said to be back in 2005. I would assume it's because Jeter's a god and the NY Media loves the guy and always seem to protect him. But it does seem like an interesting book. Usually Jeter is always painted as the nicest guy around, never heard anything about him acting bad towards bat boys and whatnot. |

| Re: New A-Rod - Jeter book You could write a dozen books if you wanted to report on all of the goings on behind the scenes on any team of any sort. Believe me, if this had happened in this manner, it would have been all over the front page of the Post. For some reason, the horrible failings of Alex Rodriguez are trying to be pawned off onto the back of one of the greatest Yankees of all time, as if he should have to also be responsible for making A-Rod into a clutch player. Hey, I never wanted that Jonah on the Yankees either. They will never win as long as he there.

| This is the reason for the rift: This was A-Rod's quote from Esquire from a 2001 article when A-Rod was still on the Rangers. Quote:

| Re: New A-Rod - Jeter book Jeter's a big man for holding a quote from 2001 over a guy. Talk about holding a grudge lol. But you have to admit, the Captain is letting his personal feelings get in the way of the team. No matter what anyone wants to say about A-Rod, there is something to the whole cold shoulder = poor post-season play. |

| But it's not Jeter's fault that A-Rod is not hitting. It's not like if Jeter makes nice with A-Rod that he'll start to hit. Everybody hated Reggie Jackson on the 77 & 78 Yankees including the manager and he still hit when it counted. |

| Re: New A-Rod - Jeter book And that, EmpireWF, is why he cannot succeed under the New York Media. |

I think a lot of this anti-Jeter crap comes from bitter people (athletes or journalists) who are jealous of Jeter's publicity and wealth. Rather petty.... I mean seriously, you don't think EVERY YANKEE PLAYER (aside from Bernie) has yelled at a teammate at least once in his career? A-Rod seems really arrogant at times... He can't be the easiest guy to get along with... |

| Re: New A-Rod - Jeter book It is the media's goal to build someone up to the point that they then have to be torn back down. I wouldn't buy that book unless I knew I was going to run out of toilet paper on a fishing trip in Alaska. |

| Re: New A-Rod - Jeter book Judging from the name, "The Pride and the Pressure: A Season Inside the NY Yankees Fishbowl," I imagine it's not just a Jeter/A-Rod book, but rather a "behind the scenes" sort of thing. Ever watch an E! True Hollywood Story or a VH1 Behind the Music episode? Sounds like the same concept, and those things are always fascinating, at least to me. Of course you have to take everything with a grain of salt, but it is good entertainment.
