Musina rips Pavano Quote:
WATCH OUT:Mike Mussina wants to see some heart, among other things...
February 16, 2007 -- TAMPA - Carl Pavano says his cranky body is rehabilitated, but there is additional work required on the pitcher's head and mouth.
Two days after Joe Torre said Pavano had a "sizable'' amount of work to do in repairing his clubhouse image and minutes before Mike Mussina said yesterday, "He needs to show a lot of people he wants to pitch for us,'' and, "Not yet, I want to see if he wants to do it,'' when asked if Pavano gets the benefit of the doubt.
"I don't know how widespread it is but from another starting pitcher who hasn't been 100 percent all of the last two years, I know what it takes to pitch and I know when you can't go out and pitch," Mussina said. "Some times it is a fine line. After 15 years, I know where the line is."

Is this just writers looking for Spring Training stories or do the players really hate Pavano? Last year, Posada ripped him, too, saying: "We have more imorpotant things to worry about than Carl Pavano." |
