Will Alex Rodriguez Opt Out?

The talk around town as of late is about the issue of Alex Rodriguez's contract. He has the ability to opt out at the end of the 2007 season. And as many expect, the market will continue to be out of whack. He could conceiveably become a free-agent and get another monster deal from someone.

Plus it's apparent he's not a happy camper in New York. Even if he doesn't have an MVP-caliber season, he may just opt-out because of that factor.

So Yankee fans, how does it feel knowing that potentially A-Rod can leave the franchise and you guys get nothing in return?

I don't see him leaving...few can offer him more...and he has a chip on his shoulder about his post season play...he has something to prove in NYC.

i for one would welcome A-Rod with open arms to Boston

Ortiz--Manny--A-Rod..........how about that in the heart of the batting order

if he gets out he will expect close to 30 mil a year he isnt going to opt out to make less. so to see the sox with all three of those guys is possible but highly unlikely

and isee no way the yanks trade him, unless they get top of the line prospects for him

Like I said, I think A-rod priced himself out of a lot of markets...more power to him...

Re: Will Alex Rodriguez Opt Out?

A-Rod after 2007 will have three years and $72 million left on his deal. I'm sure some team would be willing to offer him as much if not more money if he opts out.

Re: Will Alex Rodriguez Opt Out?

The Yankees shouldn't have rushed into this enormous deal. They should've considered all of the possibilities prior to the signing of death. For all we know, this could be the unexpected start of a baseball curse.

The contract's first year marked the end of Bambino, and the start of A-Rod.
