It's being reported past rumors that MLB will announce shortly after the New Year that the 2008 All-Star Game will be held at Yankee Stadium. It will be a way to honor the historic park before the Yanks move at the seasons conclusion.

It should be fun. The last ASG to be held in New York was in the 70s I think. Hopefully after both the Yanks and Mets get their new parks, we'll get some more frequent festive activities.

The last all star game in Yankee Stadium was in '76. Those were the years that the NL dominated and beat the mincemeat out of the AL. As I remember it, Goose Gossage got the save for the NL. The following year, Gossage was on the Yankees.

Earlier today, it was all but confirmed. Yankee Stadium will host the 2008 All Star Game in it's final year before the Yankees move to their new stadium.
