Pitching Who Comes Who Goes ????

Hi everybody

I think the Yankees are on the right direction by trading Sheffield for three young arms under 23 years old. Can they trade Randy Johnson???? Skip on Messina and spend the bucks on Barry Zitto. Stay young sign young arms....and win long term.

Anyway, the Yankees can out hit anybody, "please trade Alex" and they will dominate for years to come...stay young...

I have a twelve year old boy that hit his first home run last season, what a rush since we had been going to batting cages for five months before the season started. "Any proud dad's out there???

Let me know what you think.....

Al

Welcome to GTG.

The Yankees certainly did some good things in dealing Sheffield and most recently, Wright. I do think they will agree to bring back Mussina and keep Johnson (who will want him?).

A rotation of: Johnson, Weing, Mussina and you just have to figure out the two other spots. Is Pavano alright?

Hi Al, welcome to GoTeamsGo

(I edited your post to fit our forum rules, please take a minute & read them)

I think you're right on staying young, but the boss wants to win *every* year, so the trades have to be pretty good to avoid a rebuilding year or 2.

My boy's only 3 but have 6 & 9 yr old girls. It's great when they actually get excited about sports. Right now it's swimming, basketball & cheerleading for them.

Look forward to chatting more with you.

Welcome to GoTeamsGo, Al

The Yankees are definitely on the right track so far this offseason. Chris Britton, Humberto Sanchez, Kevin Whelan, and Anthony Claggett are the four pitchers whom the Yankees have brought on board so far, all under 25. After the misfortunate signings of Kevin Brown and Randy Johnson, the Yankee front office will (hopefully) be more cautious when trading for veterans. Bring on the yooung guys, and we'll win a championship. Look at the top two teams this year- the Cardinals and the Tigers. Both teams carried a ton of young arms.

I'd like to see a rotation of:

Zito
Wang
Mussina
Carl Pavano ( if he's able to function)
Randy Johnson ( since no team would dare take him)

That is a great strategy. I would definitely look to trade Johnson for a couple young arms and go after Zito, but I would like to see them stick with Mussina. I think he still has some games left in his arm.

I am a proud Dad, but my son is only 4 yrs old. He won't start playing ball for a couple years yet. My oldest daughter is 7, but she is into dancing and not sports. I can't wait to coach my son when he plays.
