NY Post: Joe Going Nowhere This is pretty funny since the NY Post and NY Daily News are arch rivals lol... Joe is Going Nowhere according to George King of the Post. Steinbrenner finally made the decision after "soul searching" and Torre will be brought back for a 12th season. Boy...if this is true, Bill Madden of the Daily News must feel bad.

Re: NY Post: Joe Going Nowhere Ha! It figures! If Joe Torre stays with the Yankees and Yankee fans continue to support this choke franchise then they must be considered the worst fans in baseball in my opinion. Torre has deficated on Yankee fans since game 6 of the 2004 ALCS and their fans still follow him like somekind of pied piper. Spare me the loyalty crap too. If your loyal to this zombie Torre, the worst manager in baseball than you remind me of those Nazi's who stuck with Hitler in his bunker with the Russian army 500 yards away. That's the bronx to all you people lucky enough not to live here in this cesspool, I see it every day living here. Just a bunch of mob wannabe, low IQ savages who I think should be ***CENSORED*** so that the human gene pool doesn't regress anymore than it is.

Re: NY Post: Joe Going Nowhere I don't remember any calls that warranted Torre arguing that would have inspired the Yankee bats and arms. If you don't like him because he's not loud, alright, but don't go blaming him for the Yankee playoff collapse.

| Re: NY Post: Joe Going Nowhere I can guarantee you that all of Steinbrenner's wrath grew from Torre not coming out to argue the play at third in Game Three. But even George realized that he would tarnish everything from the Torre era by having it end this way, so he kept him for one more year. As for the rest of it, the Yankees are what they are, a collection of overpriced, aging hitters assembled into a team. I found it interesting that Cashman said there was no intention of trading A-Rod, because I'll bet you that just the oppsoit is true. This team has failed miserably three times in a row, to try it a fourth would be sheer stupidity.

Great column by Bill Madden which pretty much explains how everything went down. New York Daily News - Sports Columnists - Bill Madden: Three reasons Boss did the flip-flop

Re: NY Post: Joe Going Nowhere Woah! This thread was getting a little rough earlier today! Calm down (become Simonized).... The main thing is that Joe Torre will be back next season. He has been a great figure in the Yankees franchise because of his stunning performance of 2006. Steinbrenner figured out that he should deal with the players and not the coaches. I would expect Alex Rodriguez to be shipped of to some far away island where he will officially retire from baseball. As for Joe Torre, he has had a good relationship with Steinbrenner and I'll expect him to do well. I admit that he isn't a great manager with his conservative lifestyle, but unlike some out there he has gained the respect of the organization!
