What's bigger -- A-Rod's desire to get the hell out of New York, or the team's/fans' desire to get him the hell out of New York. Obviously, its a marraige that hasn't worked out, and it really would be best for both parties to come up with some kind of a contract buyout and go their seperate ways.

Yeah, out of the NY spotlight, without Big Apple pressure on his shoulders and home team fans booing him every time he steps up to the plate? I think he goes back to being the same great player we saw in Seattle and Texas. Some people just can't handle the NYC spotlight, and I think we've discovered that A-Rod is one of those people.

He has more value as a bat boy. He's hurting the Yankees by playing for them just like Randy Johnson is. Take him off the team and make him get gatorade for the roster who has the will to win. There's a reason the Rangers were so eager to get rid of him and now we see why. The New York fans will not stand for K-Rod to back next year.

There is pressure...then there is the all out hate that followers of a Bronx based team (or Philly for that matter) can hurl on one of their own...

If I had a job uh! well I guess that disqualifies me from this considering I don't participate in U.S. mainstream society (and im damn proud! ) but K-Rod was the one who in a Sports Illustrated article saying how loved he is! It's clear he doesn't feel hated and even if he did he sees a shrink which I would recommend for someone of his position in all seriousness. He knew the risks signing that contract and he wasn't 21 when he did it so barring physical injuries there are no excuses for this gutless waste. If he started performing well there would be absolutely no hatred for K-Rod so that eliminates that argument right there and then. Now kneel to David Wright and pray to his greatness!
