Cool Mussina Stinks

I know I said this in the Playoffs thread, but I think it deserves it's own thread.

As a Yankee fan, they can't show Mussina the door fast enough. Three different years, he's failed in the post season.

What do other Yankee fans think?

Re: Mussina Stinks

He can never get the out he needs, that's why he has never won twenty games. Oh, and a big surprise. A-Rod was 0 for 4 with 3 strikeouts. I couldn't get rid of him fast enough.

Re: Mussina Stinks

You think that the Yankees should let go of both Alex Rodriguez and Mike Mussina during the off-season? I see a better chance of Steinbrenner getting rid of Mussina since he still has a large contract sitting on A-Rod.

Re: Mussina Stinks

My my how quickly Yankee fans forget. Didn't Mussina pitch a bunch of SCORELESS innings in Game 7 against Boston in the ALCS in 2003?

Mussina is a great pitcher but not one of the elites. He's in the 1-A category. Not quite at the top, but just a tad below.

Different situation entirely Empire. The Yankees were losing that game already so Mussina was pitching under less pressure....THere's a difference between that and saying - "We're winning this game 3-1" take us home. He blew a 6-1 lead against the Angels in '02 also...And got hammered in game 5 last year.
