Randy Johnson Has Herniated Disc A day after Pedro Martinez was officially out for the rest of the year, Yankee fans are fearing the same fate for Randy Johnson. The pain is so severe, Johnson was given an epideral injection to try and numb the pain. Joe Torre is holding out some hope Johnson can pitch but if he can't, Jared Wright and Corey Lidle are expected to fill in. If Johnson can't pitch in the post-season, how much will this end up costing the Pin Stripes?

Re: Randy Johnson Has Herniated Disc The real question is, how much has Randy Johnson contributed to the Yankees' success this season? I'll give him a 2 on a scale of 1 through 10 on my famous Impact-O-Meter, where 10 is always ranked the best.

| Re: Randy Johnson Has Herniated Disc The hope with Johnson is always that when you send him out to the mound, he will revert back to his old self. But this has happened maybe twice all year, and certainly not lately. If he can't go, the Yankees are going to have to hope they get six solid innings from Wright. Lidle is hit or miss, but more often misses.

Re: Randy Johnson Has Herniated Disc He should've retired instead of going to the Yankees. What happened to the 2004 perfect game in his resúme? He obviously hasn't pitched close to that day since he wore the Pinstripes.

Re: Randy Johnson Has Herniated Disc Hey, MVB, why are you suddenly trashing Randy Johnson! Whose side are you on? Without Radke and Liriano at their best, the Yankees shouldn't have a problem in this series.

Re: Randy Johnson Has Herniated Disc Not Johnson's. He's by far my least favorite on the team... He acts like he deserves special treatment, when he really has done nothing for the team. I mean look at this more recent incident- does Johnson tell the team about his injury a month prior to the playoffs ( so they can rest him in time for the Division series)? No! He selfishly pushes himself forward for the 300 wins. For Johnson, it's all about him. And I hate that. I hope he retires next year....
