NEW YORK (CP) - The New York Rangers restructured their front office Monday, promoting Jim Schoenfeld and Cameron Hope to key positions.
Schoenfeld was named assistant general manager, player personnel, while Hope was named assistant general manager, hockey administration.
The moves helped fill the void left by former assistant GM Don Maloney, who left to become GM in Phoenix. Schoenfeld was coach and GM of the Rangers' AHL affiliate in Hartford the past four seasons and he will keep the AHL GM duties in addition to his promotion.
"Jim has done a great job developing our young talent and prospects," Rangers GM Glen Sather said in a statement. "Our organizational philosophy is to build within, and Jim's keen eye for talent at every level has proven successful in building our organization."
