The New York Rangers haven't seen the Buffalo Sabres since the first day of December.

They knew how good Buffalo was then and they aren't kidding themselves about how good the Presidents' Trophy-winning Sabres are now. But the Rangers are coming off a first-round playoff sweep of the Atlanta Thrashers and feel way better about their game these days.

"I don't say they're the cream of the crop right now," Rangers coach Tom Renney said Monday. "I'm not suggesting that I don't want to give them credit, but we're where we are because we belong here, too. We'll let the series play itself out."

Buffalo. The only thing in my mind that's worse than the Islanders losing is the Rangers winning. I just can't have it. I'm surrounded by too many Rangers fans in my life.

rangers come out flat down 3-0 in 2nd lol. I so hope this is just cause of the long time in between games, henrik made so many saves early on but the rangers suck right now lol

The Buffalo crowd was hot all night, hopefully the Rangers can pick themselves up after their first terrible game this post-season.

if ya say so. rangers came out flat, didnt play like they were and like i said earlier i hope it was because of the long lay over if not this is going to be a long 7 day stretch for me on this forum. Bringing back rachunek was a bad idea and losing our best powerplay defensmen early didnt help, and if i remember right avery did draw 2 penalties also last night espically a dirty knee on knee that got called as an elbow, the mother fo's elbow never even came close to connecting. im just waiting for the day the rangers fourth line gets killed with penalties from hits from behind

The Way the sabres played that first game, the ranger fans better be afraid, be VERY afraid cuz this might be a sweep
