Rangers lose, but...

...the point they earned from their 3-2 shooutout loss to the Florida Panthers moved them a point ahead of Philadelphia for first place in the Atlantic Division. As Rangers coach Tom Renney told the AP afterwards: "Right now that could be an extremely valuable point... Tonight, it is."
