Rangers Put Kasparaitis on Waivers

Veteran defenseman Darius Kasparaitis has been placed on waivers by the Rangers. After a strong season last year, he seemingly never got any momentum this season after beginning the year with a quarrel with head coach Tom Renney.

I didn't see this right away - maybe this is how the rangers are clearing some free space for Forsberg.
I'm surprised - he's nasty, which makes for a good defenceman.
Someone'll pick him up.

he got in the doghouse and never got out, you starting to see over the last two years players who have been unable to have a smooth transisson to the new style. I just think he was one of them. I think he does play hard, just think he isnt fast enough to keep up with the pace, plus he was never any usefull inside the other teams zone, but how many really are.

Kasparitis makes a lot of money; so that's why nobody claimed him and why probably nobody will, unless the Rangers pick up a good portion of his salary
