As discussed at MetsBlog, starter Dave Williams was sent down after pitching a great game last night. Since being called up a couple of weeks ago, he's been great. Nevertheless, Randolph said he'll be called up next week to pitch but he wants to get a position player on the roster so he can qualify for the post-season.

Players eligible for post-season play must be on the 25-man roster by tonight, there are loopholes but I don't know them

We could see the return of Edgardo Alfonzo to the Mets and post-season, what a blast from the past that would be.

I'm not so sure if the Mets' fans will accept him back. One of the Mets fans on television was bad-mouthing Alfonso and said that he wouldn't watch any games that Fonzie was playing in.

I remember those days at Shea, when the crowd went wild when the third-baseman stepped to the plate.

Now the fans go wild when another third-baseman steps to the plate.

Well I guess it's a moot point as Anderson Hernandez reportedly has been called-up. He's spent the season in Triple-A Norfolk after suffering an injury at the beginning of the year in the majors.
