Carlos Beltran HR and RBI Records

The next home run and run batted in for Carlos Beltran will set personal single season records for the NL MVP candidate. Beltran previously had 108 RBIS in 1999 for the Royals and 38 home runs in 2004 for the Royals (15) and Astros (23).

And to think, he was boo'd earlier in the year.

I have always liked this kid...drafted him one year in fantasy when he was injured...rewarded me later in the year...glad to see him become the core of the Mets team...

He is a sensational lead-off hitter with unexpected power that can unleash itself anytime. You can consider him an all-around player since he is a decent fielder with speedy legs. Are we allowed to compare him to the franchised, Derek Jeter? I dare to say that he is a relatively better type of athlete.

Beltran Steal Percentage in lifetime is also unreal...among the best of the best...when he runs, he steals.

Re: Carlos Beltran HR and RBI Records

So, which other player in all-time would match his skills? That is a million dollar question!

I think the fragile and offend injured Eric Davis had a similar set of skills...he could steal (80 one year), hit for power (37 was his high), and field (gold glove)...

Re: Carlos Beltran HR and RBI Records

This is really a surprise. Carlos Beltran only hit like 19 per year with the Royals! But he was the Rookie of the Year in like '00 or something like that. Not such an instant impact but has made a reputation for himself.

Re: Carlos Beltran HR and RBI Records

He hit his 39th home run in the first inning tonight in Colorado. He has new career highs in both home runs and RBIs (it was a solo shot).

He's the definition of a true five-tool player. Especially since he's gotten his average up (now in the .280s), he can run, field, hit for power, and throw.
