Mets and Shawn Green

The Mets have seemingly been tying themselves to him for a few weeks now. It appears to be close to getting done between the Mets and D-Backs. The buzz is the two teams are negotiating the difference on Green's salary for this and next year. He's reportedly either already agreed to waive his no-trade clause or simply stated he would.

Either way, I'd put my money on Shawn Green being a Met by next week. He would certainly help out the OF-depth for the team. Cliff Floyd seems to be a big question mark regarding his health. Lastings Milledge may not even make the post-season roster.

Re: Mets and Shawn Green

MLB.com says the DBacks and Mets have agreed to a trade involving Shawn Green. Pending league approval, Shawn Green and cash will go to the Mets for a minor league player.

Great trade for the Mets looking at it from this point. Green and Carlos Delgado are friends from their Toronto days and he'll supply a good lefty bat and a strong vet prescence.

Re: Mets and Shawn Green

I cannot believe it. My favorite outfielder is coming to New York! I'll see him this Sunday at Shea.

Finally.

I've followed him since his days in Toronto, Los Angeles, Arizona and now New York. Oh baby!

Green is a has been. He has very little pop left. I waived him Saturday in fantasy and he's already cleared waivers and nobody is picking him up. And Arizona is a better hitters park than Shea.

Re: Mets and Shawn Green

He may not be a homerun hitter anymore but he knows how to hit. He won't have to be the big hitter in the Mets line-up anyway. He'll be fine lefty protection for Wright.

Re: Mets and Shawn Green

As long as he is a starter, I am happy.
