Tom Glavine May Have Blood Clot I awake to this horrible bit of news. Tom Glavine reported having numbness in some of his fingers on his left hand. Doctor's don't know if it's because of a blood clot or a "knot" in an artery near his shoulder. He's to undergo more extensive tests today I'm sure and we'll find out the seriousness of whatever is going on inside his left arm/shoulder. Worst case scenarior is Glavine is done for the year (and possibly his career). Best case scenario is Doctor's need to do some minor work and he'll be back within a couple weeks.

Re: Tom Glavine May Have Blood Clot Hopefully, Tom Glavine will be alright from this condition. He has had an excellent career and should make the Hall of Fame. I would like to see him continue his pitching in Shea Stadium next season, but if he doesn't he has had a spectacular career and that is enough for him to smile and go home about. A fairy tale ending to a life-long journey of survival in the major leagues and the obstacles that were in his path from Atlanta to Flushing.

Re: Tom Glavine May Have Blood Clot Officially, I don't think they'll know until all the tests are done. I think that would be tomorrow or Thursday. However, today's NY Post cites a Mets source as saying Glavine won't need surgery and could miss as little as one start and be back next week. Make of that what you will.
