SI reports the Mets have signed David Wright to an extension. The 6-year, $55 Million dollar contract also holds an option for 2013. The per year salaries go like this: $1 million next year, $5 million in 2008, $7.5 million in 2009, $10 million in 2010, $14 million in 2011 and $15 million in 2012.

This means the left side of the infield for the Mets are signed to deals through the next four years with Wright signed for longer.

Good move on the parts of the Mets. Wright seems like a conerstone for years to come. Nice to have him locked up.
