Thanks to Metsblog for the transcription of a Paul Lo Duca interview from ESPN.
Quote:
Asked whether he enjoys how his team’s fans can be, Lo Duca responded by saying…
“Oh definitely. I mean, we had come back from a 9–1 road trip and we got beat and got boo’d off the field – and I was loving it, it was actually pretty funny…
“You know, they’re really passionate. They’re waiting for a winner here. They always compare us to the Yankees and they want us to beat the Yankees, bottom line. So, the fans here are no dummies - and I’m no dummy. They pay my salary and they can say whatever the heck they want – and have a good time doing it, believe me.”…

Talk about a guy who's fit for New York and the fans here. I guess being born here does help, but anyway, this is the exact attitude a pro player must have when playing for a New York team. The fans only want a winner and they'll boo ya, but you shouldn't take it personally. If only A-Rod could've understand that when he came to the Yankees.
