| Re: NY Mets Trade Rumors Then if the Mets want a starter so bad it's time to go after Zito. They can keep Milledge and just part with cash which they have loads of. No problem unless the get in a bidding war with their crosstown rivals. |

| Re: NY Mets Trade Rumors Well, Willis will fetch the Marlins a great package of young talent whenever they decide to trade him but the Mets may not have enough they're willing to give up. Mike Pelfrey is as close to untouchable as you can get. I have heard rumors the Mets are interested in Javier Vazquez (Minaya-Montreal connection) and would be willing to trade a pitcher back...with names like Aaron Heilman or Phil Humber mentioned. |

| Re: NY Mets Trade Rumors If you are comparing the potential of Milledge to the ability of Dontrelle then yes it is a fair trade but Milledge is still only potential so i can understand the marlins not wanting him alone. |

| Re: NY Mets Trade Rumors Well then throw in someone else but don't underestimate Milledge's value as I believe he is a future superstar. Believe me in years to come a lot of GMs are going to be banging their heads against the wall for not trading for this guy. |

| Re: NY Mets Trade Rumors I agree trashed...I went to Toronto and got to see the guy play during Interleague play this past season....he hit a deep HR to Center and made two amazing catches...this guy is for real and people are gonna be upset they didnt try and get this guy

| Re: NY Mets Trade Rumors Here's an interesting trade rumor courtest of MLBTradeRumors. The Mets may be looking to acquire a reliever via a trade involving young RHP Brian Bannister. According to MLBTR...the Rockies and Mariners may be interested in Bannister. |
| ||||
| Re: NY Mets Trade Rumors The Mets need one or two solid reliever to replace Bradford ( and Mota?)... Bannister doesn't really have the stuff to be overpowering, and last season he was injured for months. Getting rid of him for some young power arm, might not be such a bad idea. |

| Re: NY Mets Trade Rumors Omar Minaya is leaving the winter meetings this afternoon. All the talk of the week appears to put Minaya and Billy Beane and their staff's together through long discussions. Rumors of Harden, Haren and Blanton were running rampant all week along with rumors of Milledge, Humber, Heilman and others. If the Mets lose out on Zito, I'd expect them to go to the trade market but I don't know if they can find a match with Oakland. Another reported rumor said Minaya turned down a Nationals trade offer of Chad Cordero for Lastings Milledge straight up. Anyone think Minaya should've taken the deal? |
