3B David Wright, SS Jose Reyes, CF Carlos Beltran, c Paul Lo Duca were all named to the starting line-up of the National League. Pitchers Tom Glavine and Pedro Martinez were also named to the team.

Glavine will pitch the Sunday before the ASG so he won't pitch the game. Pedro will likely skip the ASG for the 2nd year in a row to take care of nagging injuries (hip).

It is too bad that those aces won't be able to participate in such a great game. Both of the leagues have some great stars coming out and I am pleased that the Mets are one of the top contributors.

More importantly, I am surprised that Mike Piazza didn't grab the All-Star spot as usual. I bet you that he didn't even have to play the past four years, and he would have still represented the NL. Times are changing as are our players.
