Re: Mets re-call Cliff Floyd ; Demote Milledge I also expect Milledge back before long but for potential injury slots and rest days. They did what they needed to do with him and that was to give him a taste of the majors. Unless they do trade him away or otherwise we will see him starting for the Mets within a year or two. Until then they will just use them in situations like this and develop him.

Re: Mets re-call Cliff Floyd ; Demote Milledge This transaction was performed as expected. I believe I made a comment earlier in another thread about this matter. It was no surprise, here. According to ESPN.COM, Cliff Floyd is currently 0-2 so far in tonight's match-up between the Yankees and the Mets. I hope Cliff Floyd can rebound from his early-slump and start to whack some balls out of the park. When do you guys think that Lastings Milledge will play his first full-season, otherwise known as his rookie year? Cliff Floyd contract is up at the end of the season, and we have mixed feelings whether the Mets will re-sign him. Lastings Milledge would be a decent player to bring up to hold that spot, if there are no other players available. But knowing Omar Minaya, he'll find somebody.

Re: Mets re-call Cliff Floyd ; Demote Milledge Knowing Omar Minaya, he will search for and possibly acquire a replacement for Floyd instead of resign the slugger whose numbers are on the decline. If he cannot find a replacement then Milledge or Chavez will most likely fill the void. As for Floyd, him being 0-3 thru 8 innings isn't as bad as it seems since through those 8 innings the Mets have only 1 hit thanks to Mussina and crew (Mussina pitched 4 perfect innings and was taken out due to a lenghty rain delay).
