Re: Mets in Boston

I just hope that Mike Pelfrey adjusts to the MLB-level better than our good friend, Alay Soler, does. Soler has been rattled more than a cowboy at the rodeo! Hopefully, they will be able to find a solid or decent pitcher until Victor Zambrano returns next season. A simple and temporary replacement will be fine for now. Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez is alright, but I doubt his age. I think he says that he is younger than he really is.

Soler being so jumpy has surprised me. The guy has pitched in as pressurized a situation you can get with the Cuban National Team, and succeeded. Hopefully, he calm down as the season progresses. One thing El Duque has that others don't is the record in the post-season whether it's in New York or Chi-town. He does well come October and I believe he could be in the bullpen by that time.

I'm not sure about Zambrano returning next year with the Mets. First off, he has to rehab correctly and make sure he can make some sort of come back from the injury.

Re: Mets in Boston

Anyone that saw Livan Hernandez against the Red Sox might not want to have anything to do with him. He had nothing, and he is one of those guys that could be 52 years old for all we know.

Re: Mets in Boston

The statement below is not intended to be a derogatory or racial remark:

Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez is a fugitive from Cuba. Do you really think that they kept track of his birth certificate? The same answer corresponds with former Yankees' teammate, Jose Contreras. They don't keep track of that kind of stuff. They guess how old they are because they don't have real birth certificates at home. For all we know, they may be over the hill!

As I said before, I do not intend to offend anyone.

Woah now, they're not fugitives lol. I know what you mean, you just used the wrong word. They fleed Cuba and are known as defectors, it's not like their criminals. But of course, if they were ever "caught" back there, let's just say, they wouldn't be treated nicely by Castro and Co.

Anyway, ofcourse there's no legit birth certificate that the MLB officials know of. Cuban defectors and some Latin American players routinely lie about their age (to make them younger) so that MLB teams aren't scared off of their true age.

Of course some of these players are older than what we know, but as long as they can produce, it doesn't matter. Just imagine how old Julio Franco may truly be
